The threat of a strike at municipal hospitals has been averted for the time being. The union and employers have been able to agree on a package. What do the doctors say?

The Marburger Bund has canceled the nationwide strikes at municipal hospitals planned for this week. The strike will be postponed for the time being, said Klaus-Martin Bauer, managing director of the Bavarian regional association. There had been renewed talks with the employers, during which a package had been agreed during the night. This will now be presented to the union members for a ballot. Several media outlets had previously reported.

The Marburger Bund had called on its members to strike from Wednesday to Friday after no agreement was reached in the collective bargaining round with the Association of Municipal Employers. One focus should be in Bavaria.

According to Bauer, the organization of the strike ballot is already underway. This could be completed in two weeks at the earliest. Bauer assumes that a binding decision could be made by the middle of next month.
