Dynamo Dresden extended their lead over the non-promotion places in the 3rd Football League and at the same time did something for their goal difference. The team in second place in the table won 5:2 (3:1) against TSV 1860 Munich on matchday 24, showing a strong reaction to the 2:1 defeat against VfB Stuttgart II a week ago.
Christoph Daferner (6th and 32nd minute) had put Dynamo ahead twice. After former Dresden player Leroy Kwadwo (9th) equalized in between, winter newcomer Andi Hoti (39th) made the half-time score perfect with his first Dynamo goal.
After the changeover, Tony Menzel (63rd) marked the preliminary decision in front of 29,004 spectators. Jakob Lemmer (70') increased the score to a level that was not to be expected. Maximilian Wolfram (90.+2) with a handball cosmetically improved the result.
Offensive first half from both teams
Both teams went on the offensive from the start and were quickly rewarded. Both goals in the first ten minutes came from relatively acute angles. The hosts remained dominant and created further good chances, with Munich's Thore Jacobsen saving on the line from Aljaz Casar in the 11th minute. At the other end, Dresden goalkeeper Tim Schreiber prevented Tim Kloss (37) from making it 2:2.
The Lions' problems on the flanks were noticeable. Both Tim Danhof and Kwadwo looked inferior against Dresden and were often too late. In addition, the returning Jesper Verlaat was repeatedly indisposed and too slow against Daferner.
Dynamo hungry for more goals
After an even start after the break, Dynamo picked up the pace again. Jakob Lemmer (52) hammered the ball onto the crossbar from 20 meters. 1860 did not hide, defended more aggressively and had to watch out for the Saxons' counter-attacks. A loss of possession by Jan Guttau in midfield and an unfortunate misplaced pass from Kwadwo into the path of Menzel ensured that the hosts were finally on the road to victory.
After that, Dresden continued to be hungry for more goals, while Munich's defensive problems became increasingly apparent. Lemmer's fifth goal was proof of that.
