It is intended to be a place where German and Czech children and young people can play sport together. Now the Olympic Festival is starting in Most in northern Bohemia. There is even an Eiffel Tower.

Instead of just watching the Olympic Games on television, families with children and young people can get active themselves in Most in the Czech Republic. The Olympic Festival opens its doors to the public on an old open-cast mining lake on Friday from 14:00. It can be recognized by a small copy of the Eiffel Tower, which was created from 1500 pieces of recycled material from the 3D printer. Young visitors can try out more than 50 sports for themselves on the site. Most (Brüx) is located around 60 kilometers south of Dresden.

The Olympic Festival is also intended to be a place where German and Czech children can play sports together, watch the live broadcasts from Paris together or exchange ideas with former Olympic participants. The cross-border cooperation between the Czech Olympic Committee and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) is being supported by the German-Czech Future Fund with around 360,000 euros. "It goes without saying that this creates new bonds and friendships," said Petra Ernstberger and Tomas Jelinek, Managing Directors of the Future Fund.

Groups from sports clubs and school classes from Germany are also welcome in Most. They should register via an online form and will then be looked after on site by German-Czech coordinators. A campsite offers overnight accommodation by prior reservation. The Olympic Festival runs until August 11.
