A police patrol notices a car driving too fast at night. The officers reach for their speed cameras, but the driver speeds off - and gives them a wild chase.

A young driver rammed into several police vehicles in Chemnitz on Saturday night while fleeing a traffic stop. According to a statement on Sunday, the 20-year-old ignored a patrol's request to stop and accelerated instead. He sped off at high speed, even through red lights. On the outskirts of the town, he collided with a police van and then hit a patrol car in front of him, which tried to stop him. The two officers inside were slightly injured. After another collision near the Bundesstraße 174 near Altenhain, the van came to a halt across the road.

According to the police, the driver was under the influence of amphetamines and cannabis. A 17-year-old female passenger and an 18-year-old on the loading area were uninjured; small quantities of drugs were found in the car. According to the police, the damage to the vehicles involved is estimated to be at least 25,000 euros - they confiscated the car keys, driver's license and drugs.
