Train services in the Dresden region will be cancelled from Tuesday evening due to the commissioning of an electronic signal box in Bad Schandau. According to Deutsche Bahn, several connections will be affected between October 17 and 27, including EC trains between Dresden and the Czech city of Děčín. Replacement buses would be set up.
Also affected are several regional lines in the Dresden region, including the S-Bahn 2 between Dresden Airport and Pirna. Here train cancellations and timetable changes must be expected. According to Deutsche Bahn, customers are asked to plan more time for their trips and to inform themselves about cancellations and delays.
In addition to the commissioning of the new signal box, rails and sleepers would also be renewed. Deutsche Bahn said this will help reduce delays in the future.
