Saxony is keeping its shareholdings in companies constant. As of December 31, 2023, the Free State had direct holdings in 31 companies, as in the previous year, announced the Ministry of Finance in Dresden. Saxony thus represented nominal capital of 594 million euros at the end of 2023. At the same time, more than 5,600 people were employed in the holdings.
Public interests in key areas should be safeguarded
Saxony's involvement is an important instrument of economic, structural, location and labor market policy, it said. The participations are aimed at safeguarding public interests in central areas such as public infrastructure, economic, environmental, science and technology policy through to the area of public credit institutions and regulatory measures.
