Close away game: SC DHfK Leipzig loses to HSV Hamburg 34:35

The handballers of SC DHfK Leipzig have also lost their second away game in this Bundesliga season narrowly. Two weeks after the 27:28 in Melsungen, the team of coach Runar Sigtryggsson lost unhappily 34:35 (18:16) at HSV Hamburg on Saturday night. With a directly converted free throw, the outstanding Jacob Lassen secured HSV's first win of the season four seconds before the end. Before that, the Leipzig team had tied the game at 34:34 with goals from Moritz Strosack and Andri Runarsson in the final minute. Best throwers of the SC DHfK were Viggo Kristjansson and Matej climate with six goals each.

From a 0:3 false start the Leipziger recovered fast and conquered owing to at the beginning brilliantly acted climate with 7:6 (12. minute) for the first time the guidance. In the following, a fast-paced game developed, in which the guests found a good balance between backcourt actions and the play via their outsides. So they maintained until the break consistently a narrow lead.

Also in the second round, the Leipzigers had the game initially under control, before the HSV with four goals in a row turned a 21:23 deficit into a 25:23 lead (44th). SC DHfK repeatedly failed to score in this phase against long-time national goalkeeper Johannes Bitter. The Leipzig goalkeepers Kristian Saeveras and Domenico Ebner succeeded against it in the entire play altogether only four Paraden.

The guests remained however dran, created by Luca Witzke the 27:27 equalizer and could not be shaken off also by a further 4:0 run of the Hamburg to 31:27. A point win was within reach, but then came Lassen.
