The Dresden SC women's volleyball team celebrated their third win in their third Bundesliga match of the season. At the end of the English week, the six-time German champions beat USC Münster 3:0 (27:25, 25:22, 25:16) in front of 2,326 spectators in their home arena.
Dresden had some trouble getting into the game. They lacked the necessary concentration and precision. As a result, the visitors from Münster initially opened up a clear lead. It was not until the middle of the set that the DSC women found their rhythm better and started a successful comeback. Münster initially fended off three set points in the final phase, but Marta Levinska successfully closed out the set for her team.
The Waibl side initially got off to a better start in the second set, but USC then built up another lead. A fiercely contested exchange of blows ensued. In crunch time, the team from the city on the Elbe stepped up their game and served with pressure. They took their chances in attack from a stable reception, also worked well in blocking and defending the court and secured a 2:0 lead in the set.
The Dresden side took the momentum with them and quickly gained a clear lead in the third period. USC's resistance was now broken and the DSC did not let the victory slip away. The second match point was converted by diagonal attacker Levinska, who proved to be the most successful scorer with 21 points.
