RB Leipzig have clearly won their only test match in preparation for the restart of the Bundesliga. Coach Marco Rose's team beat Czech third-division side FK Banik Most 10:0 (6:0) today. The game took place at the RB training ground and was closed to the public.
Xavi Simons and David Raum, who have been injured for several months, played in the game and gained some competitive fitness for the Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen on Sunday (15:30/DAZN). Simons scored two goals, Raum one.
Forward Benjamin Sesko scored four times. The other goals for Leipzig were scored by Lois Openda and youngster Robert Ramsak. There was also an own goal from the Czech goalkeeper. RB were missing Castello Lukeba, Assan Ouédraogo and Benjamin Henrichs, who were already out for an extended period of time.
Baku to replace Henrichs
Since international Henrichs will not play again this season due to a torn Achilles tendon, sporting director Marcel Schäfer is working on a new signing for the right side of defence. According to media reports, RB have submitted an offer to VfL Wolfsburg for Ridle Baku, but this was deemed too low for the 26-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer.
