Caution after Boxing Day: The best-before date on some packs of Edeka's own brand Gut&Günstig Vienna sausages is incorrect.

The Edeka head office has recalled its own-brand Gut&Günstig Vienna sausages in several German states. According to the company, an incorrect best-before date of December 26, 2025 was mistakenly printed on individual 400 gram packs (2 x 200 grams). The correct date is December 26, 2024.

Sausages offered in several federal states

According to the information, the product was mainly offered at Edeka, Marktkauf and L. Stroetman in Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Saarland and parts of Bavaria, Thuringia, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.

Packs with the incorrectly labeled date are not recommended for consumption after December 26, 2024, it said. The retail companies concerned had immediately withdrawn the corresponding goods from sale.
