The automobile manufacturer Porsche has expanded its promotion of young talent in Leipzig with an experience workshop. The aim is to give children and young people from grades 3 to 9 playful access to mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT), Porsche announced on Monday.

Young people have it in their hands with their career choice to develop climate-friendly solutions for industry and business through research and innovation, said Minister President Michael Kretschmer at the opening. "The joy of technology and natural sciences is the nucleus for the expansion of e-mobility and sustainable industrial production," the CDU politician emphasized.

The courses reportedly deal with the production of the future, how to design mobility sustainably or what automotive engineering and digitalization have in common. Participants learn how a Porsche is made and what is behind combustion, hybrid and electric drives. "With our range of courses, we want to make a contribution to increasing the attractiveness of STEM as a training, study and career field," said Gerd Rupp, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche Leipzig GmbH.
