The Greens in the Saxon state parliament want to streamline the regulations for building. "Building must not only become more climate-friendly, but above all simpler and more cost-effective," said MP Thomas Löser in Dresden on Sunday. "As legislators, we should therefore urgently grant more freedom and part with unnecessary regulations."

To the topic, there had been a hearing last Friday in the state parliament. According to Löser, Andreas Wohlfarth, President of the Chamber of Architects of Saxony, had advertised thereby for the so-called building type E. The E stands for simple. With it maximum standards, which exceed the actual protection goals of the building code such as fire protection and stability, can be deviated from and costs reduced.

"The challenges in the building sector are enormous. This is one of the reasons why we advocated for a dynamized annual continuous amendment of the building code during the last amendment of the building code," Löser emphasized.
