The trade union Verdi wants to consult its members on an offer from the local transport employers' association (AVN) in the wage dispute in regional scheduled services in Saxony. As Verdi announced in Leipzig on Tuesday, AVN presented a new offer in the fifth round of negotiations. The employers' association pointed out that there would be no further concessions. A new negotiation date was not agreed.
If the results of the survey show that the members reject the latest employer offer, Verdi expects strikes to last several days from next week. The collective bargaining committee will make the decision on April 15 after evaluating the survey.
Verdi is demanding, among other things, a 22 percent increase in pay, but at least 750 euros per month, as well as an increase in pay for trainees and interns of 200 euros per month - both retroactive to January 1 of this year. According to the union, the employers offered an increase in three steps totaling 13.7 percent and an inflation adjustment premium in the last round.
