The 7th long-distance classic car tour led along the B96 from Zittau to Binz. The next one is due to take place in five years' time.

One of the most spectacular classic car rallies in Germany came to an end on Saturday in Binz on the island of Rügen. After three days and around 520 kilometers on Germany's longest federal road, the B96 from Zittau in Saxony to Sassnitz on Rügen, the 260 or so historic vehicles reached the Baltic seaside resort of Binz.

According to organizer David Priebs from Eibau in Saxony, all the classic cars arrived. There were only minor problems along the way, such as brakes that needed adjusting, a broken alternator or difficulties with the battery. "We were able to fix everything on the way, none of the vehicles broke down," he said.

The oldest participating vehicle was built in 1912, a Wanderer car. According to the regulations, none of the cars could be built before 1975 and none of the trucks could be built before 1990, as Priebs explained.

The classic car long-distance drive has been taking place since 1989. Initially it took place every ten years, now every five years.
