The logistics site at Leipzig/Halle Airport is growing. The Munich-based company Mytheresa, an online platform for luxury fashion, officially opened a logistics center in Schkeuditz on Thursday. Covering an area of around 55,000 square meters, the center offers space for up to five million luxury items from the women's fashion and real jewelry categories, as the company announced.
Thanks to its close proximity to the airport, 20 percent of orders could be delivered a day earlier in future, explained Michael Kliger, head of Mytheresa. In total, more than 1,000 jobs are to be created at the site by 2030. The establishment strengthens the Leipzig region as an important international logistics location, said Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer (CDU) at the opening on Thursday, according to a press release.
