The driver of a van was seriously injured in a traffic accident on the A4 between Bautzen and Weißenberg in the direction of Dresden. According to a police spokesperson, the 44-year-old driver left the road on the right at a parking lot in the early morning and crashed into a parked truck. The truck was parked in an access road to the parking lot. The driver was in the truck and was uninjured.
The driver of the van was reportedly rescued from the badly damaged vehicle and taken to hospital by helicopter. The highway had to be closed for several hours.
