Three children were seriously injured in a collision between two vehicles at an intersection in Weißenborn (district of Central Saxony). A total of six people were injured, five of whom were taken to hospital. According to the police, a 37-year-old woman was traveling with the children, aged between two and six, in a van in the direction of Lichtenberg. At an intersection, their vehicle collided with a car.
The police suspect that the 37-year-old woman disregarded the driver's right of way. The 20-year-old was also injured. After the collision, the van crashed into another van and then tipped onto its side.
The 37-year-old woman was also injured. The 52-year-old driver of the van suffered minor injuries. The police estimate the property damage at 40,000 euros. Two rescue helicopters were also deployed. The road had to be fully closed for several hours. The road has been open again since the early afternoon.
