On average, girls in Saxony live significantly longer than boys born in the state. And their life expectancy is also higher than that of girls in other federal states.

Girls born in Saxony have an average life expectancy of 83.6 years. Only girls born in Baden-Württemberg live even longer in a nationwide comparison. This was announced by the State Statistical Office in Kamenz. This means that the life expectancy of girls is still higher than that of boys. On average, they live to be 77.4 years old.

In all federal states, newborn girls outlive boys by at least four years. This difference is particularly large in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where it is more than six years.
