More overnight stays in Saxony

Tourism in Saxony is booming. After the coronavirus pandemic, hotels are reporting a new high. One region in particular is benefiting.

The number of tourists and overnight stays in Saxony has reached a new high following the coronavirus pandemic. In the first four months of the year, the number of overnight stays rose by 2.5 percent to 5.2 million, according to the State Statistical Office at the start of the summer vacations on Thursday. The number of guests was therefore around 2.1 million, more than five percent higher than in the first four months of 2023.

According to the statistics authority, almost all tourist regions benefited from the growing number of visitors. Saxon Switzerland in particular saw a significant increase with ten percent more guests.
