The Moritzburg Stallion Parades are celebrating their 100th anniversary. Every year, they are a showcase and spectacle for breeders and horse fans from Germany and abroad.

Minister of Agriculture Wolfram Günther (Alliance 90/Greens) has praised Moritzburg horse breeding as a valuable and living cultural asset. "100 years of stallion parades mean 100 years of quality and performance in horse breeding," he said at a celebratory event. "Stallions have been presented here for generations to support horse breeders in Saxony. This also helps to preserve the diversity of horse breeds."

The stallion parades at Moritzburg State Stud celebrated their 100th anniversary on Saturday. Further parades are planned for September 15 and 21. They attract tens of thousands of visitors from Germany and abroad every year. The first parade took place in 1924. Such shows are important for breeders to find suitable animals to match their mares.
