From May 6, the Dresden State Art Collections will present a comprehensive overview of modern Ukrainian from the beginning of the 20th century to the present under the title "Kaleidoscope of History(s)." The exhibition at the Albertinum is the first of its kind in Germany, according to the museum association on Thursday, and is sponsored by the German Foreign Office and the Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation. Paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations, video works, graphic art and artists' archives provide insight into Ukraine's past and present and its "constant struggle for its own self-image." They came from museums and private collections in Ukraine; in addition to many new artistic productions, some historical works also traveled outside the country for the first time. Other loans came from the Telekom collection and the Artothek of the German Bundestag.
