Ahmet Arslan is back on the scoresheet for Dynamo Dresden with immediate effect. The 29-year-old midfielder from second division club 1. FC Magdeburg is on loan to the third division club until the end of the season - without an option to buy. This was announced by both clubs on Wednesday. "We are happy that the option has arisen to bring Ahmet back to us," said Dynamo sporting director Ralf Becker.
Arslan, who was already on loan to the Elbe club from Holstein Kiel in the 2023/23 season, enjoyed the most successful spell of his professional career in Dresden. In 39 games for SGD across all competitions, the right-footer scored 31 goals and provided eleven assists. With a total of 25 goals, Arslan became the top scorer in the 3rd division. Now Arslan is to help the traditional club to promotion. "He knows the conditions here in Dresden and can be an important building block for our team in this crucial second half of the season," said Becker.
In Magdeburg, the Memmingen-born player "hasn't had the impact on the season so far that we had hoped for on both sides. It makes sense to loan him to Dynamo Dresden, where he has had his best time so far, so that he can get the necessary match practice in the rest of the second half of the season to help us in the new 2024/25 season," said FCM sporting director Otmar Schork.
